Gwyneth Paltrow models her one-shoulder yoga top.
Beyond Yoga has partnered with celebrity yogi Gwyneth Paltrow and her lifestyle and e-commerce website Goop to create a new yoga ensemble.
The one-shoulder strap tank top, which was designed by Paltrow, is now for sale through Goop along with a pair of leggings. Both pieces are made with Beyond Yoga’s quilted Supplex fabric and only come in black.
“I’ve always wanted a one shouldered exercise top and could never find one so we’ve collaborated with Beyond Yoga (who make really chic, comfortable, perfect exercise gear) to make my dream top!” wrote Paltrow on her website.
Paltrow’s venture into the activewear business has raised eyebrows that the top’s design, like other Paltrow ventures, isn’t practical for the many yoga practitioners. Aside from the hefty price tag—the top is $75—one shoulder strap doesn’t look like much support.
In response, Beyond Yoga pointed out that the top comes with a removable strap to offer extra support and coverage. “We can understand big busted yogi’s having concerns with coverage,” said Morgan Robinson, Beyond Yoga’s marketing and digital media manager. “But for bust sizes A-C (some D’s) this cami offers the coverage and support (with its additional removable strap) any yogi needs.”
