About Erica

Erica Rodefer is Associate Online Editor for YogaJournal.com. When she's not writing and blogging for YJ, she loves knitting, sewing, hiking, and, of course, practicing and teaching yoga. Since she was first introduced to yoga in a college course, she's been motivated to spread the joy—especially to stressed-out teenagers. She lives in Oakland, California with her husband and a little, white kitty that rarely lets her sleep past 6 a.m.

Hi, Erica,

I was looking for something to send a friend about the conference and when I saw your comments in this entry, I realized that we had been practicing next to each other in the Anusara class. After you had to leave, we practiced only one pose, for sacroiliac pain. When the shuttle folks read the list of those missing, I knew that you'd gotten to the other bus on time.

A guy whom I met during the conference, Rob Schware, runs the Give Back Yoga Foundation, and forwarded today an article in the Huffington Post from a reporter who had visited the conference:

Also, didn't know whether YJ has a spot (or plans) for a community type bulletin board where people can share ideas for community involvement, or ideas for supporting community involvement, such as Rob's foundation.

Aloha,

I live in Fl, am 66 yrs old, jog, river & sea kayak and do my yoga in 90degree weather, not naked, because I am usually in a park overlooking the ocean or Indian River.
Another 10degrees probably wouldn't hurt, but at my age you don't want to push it.

Psychology recognizes Yoga. Thought you might be interested in this for the buzz.
