New yoga energy bar... would you try it?

The Detour Yoga Bar hits store shelves today. The new energy bar, in two flavors called Blueberry Acai and Peach Mango, "includes lemon balm to help alleviate stress and promote a sense of calm while supporting strong, flexible muscle development with 11 grams of high-quality protein." Visit www.detourbar.com for a list of all ingredients. Is this something you would try? Do you eat energy bars? If so, before or after practicing yoga?

I instruct two yoga classes back to back with a half hour break in between. I rely on protein bars to keep my energy up.

The link is incorrect. It is www.detourbar.com

No way, because they have whey protein--not vegan, and a processed food instead of whole. Basically junk (read The China Study) in an environmentally unfriendly wrapper.

I will have simple bars occasionally--Organic Fiber bars (though I don't need the fiber, they are primarily whole foods and useful in a pinch) and Lara bars, for example.

I'm a big fan of energy bars, especially Cliff Bars. I'm mostly a pitta, so I get hungry every couple of hours, and energy bars help me make it until the next meal. I find that I need some kind of nourishment before yoga class, so I drink a fruit smoothie. When I go to class on a completely empty stomach, my tummy makes all sorts of weird gurgles during pranayama, which can be very distracting and a bit embarrassing. After class, I'm starving. Sometimes, during corpse pose at the end of class, I find my thoughts turning toward food. After class, I eat an energy bar while I cook dinner.

I can't wait to try these! I've tried the other Detour energy bars and they taste great, so these should be good, too.

I would definitely try these new bars, especially if they relieve stress. I usually listen to music to relieve my stress which helps. I heard there's a new CD coming out, Sacred Blessings by Kosmic music. I think Anthony Robbins picked all the songs, which are from all different faiths. I can't wait until it comes out, and it should be available it most stores. So between that and those bars I should be set!
