More proof yoga good for your heart
According to Reuters, recent studies conducted in Sweden and India show that yoga can reverse biochemical changes associated with high blood pressure, obesity, and high blood sugar. Waist circumference, blood pressure, blood sugar, and triglycerides were significantly lower, and "good" HDL cholesterol levels were higher in the yoga group as compared to a control group, report researchers in the journal Diabetes Research and Clinical Practice. Have you reversed a heart disease risk factor with yoga alone?

While not in a scientific context, I have seen people treat both heart conditions and diabetes with a combination of yoga and diet changes. Scientifically speaking, an article was released in the New England Journal of Medicine that showed diet and exercise alone to be far more effective in the treatment of diabetes than insulin. The most important thing to do is talk to your doctor and to come up with a safe program that can help ween you off medication. The focus and relaxation yoga provides may be enough alone, but some other major tips are to exchange red meat for soy and increase the amount of fish in your diet. Taking a shot of apple cider vinegar every day has also been shown to help with high blood pressure. Conscious living can replace medication in many circumstances, but should not be advised unless the crossover is overseen by a medical professional. If your doctors do not agree with your choice, it might be a good idea to look further into a doctor who is willing to work with your lifestyle.

It amazes me how healing yoga can actually be. I was recently researching the health benefits of yoga and I came across this webpage:
