I am not sure if I would take part in a competition. Yoga is much more than a form of exercise or physical achievement. Thoughts?

I agree. I think its breeding ground for very painful injuries, especially this being bikram.

ya know... I hear a lot of people taking pot shots at this yoga competition since it started. I have been to 4 of the last 5 years of this competition and I have to say that watching the yogis and yoginis go through their routine is nothing short of amazing and inspiring. Not in a cirque du soleil kind of way but in the deeper sense. Many of them have overcome huge obstacles to get there, and are living examples of the effects of an everyday yoga practice. Anything is possible when we practice regularly. They are up there showing us that we need to take our own practice to the next level. It's not about competition, it's about overcoming our own limitations.

BOO! That's my reaction. However, in my awareness of the fact that this is simply my reaction to any news about Bikram... I wonder if the man deserves a second chance.
What do the rest of you think?
