Bhagavad Gita coming to U.S. hotel rooms?
The World Hindu Council of America is going to try to persuade Indian-American hotels and motel owners to place copies of Bhagvad Gita in rooms, according to the Times of India. It was unclear if this was in addition to or instead of the Bible. Do you think this will have any impact on America's understanding of Hinduism?

Hey! It's really a nice idea to place copies of Bhagvad Gita in rooms.

I came across a copy of the B. Gita in a library book sale and began to read it and it really seemed to denigrate women. Maybe it was just the translation or publisher of that particular book.?

Interestingly, the last time that my husband and I flew, we used the prayer rooms at the airports whenever we could to pray, meditate, and do a little yoga. I noticed the Bhagavad Gita in these rooms, but not one of our Faith's texts. We are Baha'i's and when we spoke with our friends later on, they described how they've tried to leave our books in those Inter-Faith Rooms before, but that they keep disappearing. It COULD be that someone is so attracted to the books that they decide to take them... we don't know.
So, anyway... I am, of course thrilled that the Bhagavad Gita and yoga's spiritual philosophy is making its way around the world. I have hopes that the Baha'i Faith will gain others' notice as well.

We are the ninth largest world religion and, although we are not trying to hide, we go quite unnoticed!

Enjoy!
