Babies are good judge of character
If you're a parent, you may have noticed your baby gravitating toward the gentlest soul in the elevator. That's because researchers have discovered that babies are more capable judges of character than previously thought. Infants can, in fact, pick out a good Samaritan, according to a Yale University study published in the journal Nature. Talk about beginner's mind. Anyone out there have first-hand experience they want to share?

My son has always hugged the nicest person wherever we are. It's been a little rough since we moved to New York, getting him not to tackle other people's daddies and mommies and having to disinvite strangers for playdates. He once told a friend of a friend he was a "bad man" with a big wide grin. I admonished my son, then the man told me he had actually done time for manslaughter a long long time ago, but is no longer a violent person. It kind of freaked us all out a little bit.
