Cowgirl yoga
I can't think of a better way to spend a fall weekend than in Bozeman, Montana, taking a yoga for equestrians workshop. The program is run by riding instructor Annie Bolognino and yoga teacher Margaret Burns Vap. The first part of the session takes place out of the saddle on the yoga mat. In the saddle, you'll focus on yogic breathing to foster a relaxed yet alert posture on horseback, and explore a variety of yoga poses you can do when riding to instantly release tension and relax you (and your horse). As a yogi and a long time equestrian, I can't think of 2 more complementary activities. Both are so dependent on balance, both mental and physical and both are such truly spiritual experiences. I can also say, from personal experience, that Margaret Burns Vap is an extremely gifted teacher with a healing spirit and tremendous positive energy.

Just a few months ago we spent a week in this area of the country . It is beautiful! Great food, shops and horseback riding in Bozeman, and great road trips into the nearby parks. We even had the chance to spend some time with Margaret and she's obviously got all the yoga mojo you could hope for!
