Goodbye yoga pants, hello yoga jeans?
When was the last time you wore a pair of jeans to yoga class? I'm guessing never. Montreal's Second Denim (secondclothing.com) would like to change that. The company's Yoga Jeans ($120), designed to stretch as you move into Downward-Facing Dog and more, are 97 percent cotton and three percent Elasthane. When Second Denim owner and designer Eric Wazana was asked if he actually expected people to wear them to yoga, he responded, "Absolutely." Anyone game?

Since most of my jeans and pants have at least 3% stretch material (lycra, elastane, or spandex) in them already, I often do yoga at home wearing them. However, I would not wear them to class or group yoga.

I love the idea of stretch jeans for yoga class!
Wish I had a pair to wear at next weeks Yoga Conference in Estes Park!
Peace.

I love the idea of stretch yoga jeans, but there's no way I would pay $120 for the ones mentioned. If the price was comparable to regular jeans, I might buy a pair or two.

Eh, I'm not a fan of jeans to begin with, and I'm a cheapskate to boot. I won't be wearing these to class anytime soon!

Actually, these would be perfect for this weekend's Global Mala in DC. It would be great to wear jeans to the event for speakers, etc. and then be ready to go for the 108 sun salutations.

I love the idea, but to be honest, I'd have to try them first - all I know is that with thicker fabric, in poses like eka pada raja kapotasana, the pants bunch up at the hips, restricting movement. Same thing with a lot of other poses where you contract a lot in some areas. I get in my own way enough already in poses, no need to have the pants chime in too :)

Yoga pants might be cool without the thick seams in the crotch and inner legs. Who cares what you wear on your bum as long as it's comfortable and it isn't hanging out! Is stretch material necessary? The secondhandclothing.com website with the $120 vintage jeans was hilarious! Frequenting the thrift stores and ebay paying $6 to $12 is what I consider reasonable. On the other hand, never come between a fool and his money, huh?

These pants fit!!! I love the fact that they are Canadian. Being an ex-Montrealer I have a special affinity to them. I never thought a middle aged body could look so good in jeans.

Yoga jeans sounds like a good idea to me. Anything that will get someone to workout should always be supported. My $750.00 income doesn't include clothing funds, and sometimes not even the co-payments for my med's. While I'm looking for an exercize program to help with my high blood pressure, obesty, and recently found diabetes. Please think about others before you hit that send key. Speaking for myself, the last thing I need is another reason not to get up and work this body.

I think the crotch seams would be too restrictive, cutting off blood flow, causing chaffing and perhaps encouraging yeast infections (in women).
